Magic Light Kit replaces a tree’s single light source with a 125 LED string, a light up star topper, a 24 key IR remote, and 125 clear twist caps. It is cut for makers who punch their own greenware or drill their own bisque, and it drops into finished trees that already have twist in bulb holes.

Color, bulb by bulb
Each LED gets its own color, so several colors run on the tree at once. Custom scenes, 20 dynamic effects, 5 fixed scene modes, and music reactive lighting. Brightness is set for the whole tree, not per bulb.
Sized for greenware and bisque
Greenware is clay that has been cast and dried but not fired. Bisque is clay fired once and still unglazed. Punch greenware or drill bisque to the kit size, using the punch tool cut to match the twist caps, instead of guessing.
Cool bulbs, clear housings
Incandescent bulbs are still a common choice and they work, but they run hot. These LEDs run cool. The LED itself makes the color, so the housings come clear only. No colored caps to sort or replace.
No account, no login
The app pairs straight to the string over Bluetooth. There is nothing to sign up for and no email to hand over. The remote and the button on the cord work the same string.
Three things to remember while you string it.
Start with the star at the top and work down. Reaching the very top from inside can be tricky. A small dowel helps guide the first LED up to the star opening. Then feed the string down through the rest of the tree.
Plan how you feed the LEDs. They light in sequence, so the order you thread them through the holes decides how an animated effect travels across the finished tree. Worth experimenting with.
Leave slack between sections. On an extension tree, finish the main section, then carry on into the middle. Extra LEDs sitting between sections without bulbs are intentional. That slack lets you separate and move the sections later, and the spare caps go in your parts bin.

These bulbs run larger than traditional twist lights, pegs, and pins.
Magic Light bulbs are larger than traditional twist lights, pegs, and pins, because the LED component needs room inside the housing. That makes hole sizing the thing to get right. If you are punching greenware, punch to the kit size while the clay is soft. Clay shrinks in the kiln, so check the fit again at bisque. Glaze can tighten a hole further.
Drilling bisque calls for a diamond edged bit. A standard bit will not hold up against fired ceramic. Work slowly, and break the glaze back gently on a hole that ends up snug.
This is the bulb category the industry calls Twist Lights, sized Small, Medium and Large by stem diameter. Pin Lites are a different, thinner stemmed category and they are not compatible with this kit.
Our kit uses Large Twist Lights. The Magic Light Kit is designed for makers working with greenware or bisque, so the light holes need to be sized for the kit.
If you are using a tree mold you have not tested with the kit before, check the bulb and hole fit on your greenware before you punch the rest of the tree. That way you can make any adjustment to the hole size before repeating it across the entire piece.
